Introducing Lent
Lent is a time when Christians intentionally make room in busy lives to draw nearer to God. It’s a period for preparing hearts and minds for the great festival of Easter. Lent can be a time to clear away the clutter from our lives through reflection and prayer, and to reassess our priorities. God offers us renewal and refreshment, healing and restoration.

Wild Bright Hope
Mondays 10.30 a.m. The Chapel, Chapel Street, Milborne St Andrew
starting 10th March
Twelve writers share their experiences of hope in a variety of life situations. The book encourages us to embrace a more hopeful perspective for the world and the challenges we face, and to consider how we ourselves can play a full part in bringing in the kingdom of God. Each week we will read two chapters in advance of the meeting and reflect on them together when we gather in person.

Week 1— Seeds of unity; reimagining day to day

Week 2—Kingdom, faiths and diplomacy; wild paths of peace

Week 3—Hope and the Church of England; a vision for hope in politics

Week 4—Widening horizons; a beautiful and messy awakening

Week 5— The radical grace of God; good news, new histories

Week 6—A journey through a supper table; hope in suffering

What to bring with you: course book (see sign-up sheet in church)

Suggested Reading
Living Hope: A Lenten Journey
This booklet invites you to explore the hope God offers us – not wishful thinking, but something real, robust, alive. Each week it considers the idea of hope from a different angle, as we journey with Jesus on the road that leads to the cross and beyond, to the transforming hope of Easter Day. It offers daily Bible readings, pictures, short reflections, prayers and practical ideas to help you grow in hope and in faith during Lent. Written by Cathrine Fungal Ngangira, Belle Tindall and Victoria Mason.
